First Anacostia Business Summit

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Yesterday the Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District and Anacostia Watershed Restoration Partnership co-hosted the first ever Anacostia Business Summit near the Navy Yard Metro.  A major summit goal was to highlight, explain, and promote the recently released Army Corps of Engineer’s Anacostia Restoration Plan to the business community.  Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton described how she was motivated by her interest in Anacostia restoration to have the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 include Section 5060, authorizing the Army Corps to create this 10 year plan.
